Cycling transfers – Jayco AlUla bring on Olympic track champion
The ultimate guide to the pro cycling transfer window, tracking every move across the men's and women's WorldTours
Pro cycling's transfer season for 2027 is officially underway, and though the strict August 1 rule no longer exists, the first day of the month still marked a flurry of transfer announcements and the start of what will be a busy few weeks of moves.
Prior to August 1, plenty of contracts have already been extended, and some transfers have been announced or confirmed. Some moves have already taken place mid-season, too, as there are different rules for signing riders who don't currently have a professional contract. Plenty have teams have already confirmed signings of neo-pros from their development squads too.
Teams are allowed to have transfer discussions and ink deals with riders whose contracts are ending before August 1, and often do - especially during the Tour de France, the height of transfer negotiations. Which means plenty of agreements will have been made long before August 1, but may only become public in the coming weeks.

Latest transfer news
The transfer market heated up in late August, with high-profile moves on both the men's and women's WorldTour level.
Olympic team pursuit champion Oliver Bleddyn will graduate to the WorldTour with Jayco AlUla after spending two months with the squad as a trainee.

Ethan Hayter makes a move from Soudal-Quickstep to Pinarello-Q36.5, while Mark Donovan leaves Pinarello-Q36.5 to join Visma-Lease a Bike.
The biggest transfer to come after the World Championships is Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney's long-rumoured move from Canyon-SRAM to Lidl-Trek, where she will be their new GC leader as she hunts down another Tour de France Femmes title.
Elsewhere on the merry-go-round, Cuban veteran Arlenis Sierra is leaving Movistar for Lidl-Trek, but the Spanish squad have signed Mireia Benito from AG Insurance-Soudal. Usoa Ostolaza is off to Uno-X Mobility, whilst French TT champion Célia Le Mouël has a new home at Cofidis.
On the men's side, Ben Turner is making his next step as a Classics rider with a move to Soudal-QuickStep, whilst Guillaume Martin is headed to Lotto-Intermarché. Lidl-Trek have also made a big Grand Tour signing, nabbing both Felix Gall and Gregor Mühlberger from Decathlon CMA CGM, as well as signing Belgian sprinter Jordi Meeus from Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe.
Transfer speculation and rumours
Whilst we will only report on the moves we know to be confirmed here, there are plenty of rumours and whispers of moves that will be important this transfer season.
One of the most high-profile riders on the move this season is be breakthrough star Paula Blasi, who recently confirmed that she's leaving UAE Team L'IMAD for Movistar, though it's a complicated exit and buyout, so her new team haven't officially announced it yet.
There's also a brand new team in the women's peloton, with Decathlon CMA CGM launching a women's ProTeam for 2027, and Cyclingnews understands that they have already filled a 10-rider roster.
Primož Roglič could be on the move from Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe as he looks to extend his career, with Lotto-Intermarché a surprising contender for his signature. And there's still debate over the long-term future of Paul Seixas, though Isaac del Toro extending with UAE Team Emirates-XRG may be a sign he's not heading there.
We'll keep this section updated with some of the most interesting speculation, rumours and riders who are still out of contract as the window progresses.
Retirements and riders out of contract
As well as those on the move for 2027, there are plenty of riders who could be on their way out of the peloton – either by choice as they retire or those that are still searching for a contract.
A whole host of names have already announced their plans to retire, including Julian Alaphilippe, Ashleigh Moolman Pasio, Damiano Caruso, Magnus Cort, Pello Bilbao, Steven Kruijswijk, Amanda Spratt, Bauke Mollema and more. Kim Cadzow also ended her career with immediate effect recently.
Mavi García, interestingly, has put off her retirement, deciding to continue on for another year with UAE Team L'IMAD.
There is speculation over the future of other riders, including Giro d'Italia winner Tao Geoghegan Hart who is out of contract with Lidl-Trek and seems to have been winding down this year, though it won't become clear until later in the year who is really scrambling for a contract.
