Stage 4 from the hot sulphur springs of Acqui Terme to Andora (not Andorra - big difference) - a beautiful resort town along the Italian Riviera with pristine shorelines, just up the coast from Sanremo. The riders will hit the first intermediate sprint in Calizzano and a single climb, the Colle del Melogno and the Intergiro sprint in Altare before hitting the coast at Savona, where they'll have another intermediate sprint. Then, it's a rapid run down the coast to the expected bunch sprint in Andora.
But then again, there is a small rise before the finish so maybe Tadej Pogačar will attack again as he did on stage 3 when he followed Mikkel Honoré's move on a climb inside 3km to go, "just stretching my legs", he said.
That stretch was followed by Geraint Thomas, who said Pogačar was "kicking my head in".
Stage 4 Sprints
- Intermediate sprint, km. 79.2
- Intergiro bonus sprint, km. 116
- Time bonus sprint, km. 130.6
Stage 4 Mountains
- Colle del Melogno (cat. 3), km. 88.1
