Annemiek van Vleuten (Movistar Team) secured the overall title at the 2021 Ladies Tour of Norway. The Dutch rider took the overall race lead on the first-ever mountaintop finish on stage 3 and then held her overall lead over runner-up Ashleigh Moolman Pasio (SD Worx) and third placed Kristen Faulkner (Tibco-Silicon Valley Bank) on the stage 4 finale in Halden.
Chloe Hosking (Trek-Segafredo) was the stage 4 winner after crossing the line first from a bunch sprint in Halden. The Australian, who only recently returned to competition after recovering from COVID-19, won the sprint ahead of Coryn Rivera (Team DSM) and Chiara Consonni (Valcar-Travel & Service).
Marianne Vos has won the Ladies Tour of Norway for three years in a row. This year, she is racing for her new team Jumbo-Visma, which is a Continental-level outfit. She will arrive having secured a 30th career stage win at the Giro d'Italia Donne, and having competed at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
The race is held just after the postponed Tokyo Olympic Games where the women’s road race was on July 25 and the time trial on July 28, and so with two weeks in between, it that may not affect the participation at the Ladies Tour of Norway.
Organisers of this event are working on a future six-day race called the Battle of the North, together with the Danish and Swedish Federations in 2022.

Organisers of the Ladies Tour of Norway have announced the route details for this year's race held from August 12-15 in the region of Østfold, Norway.

This year's route will begin with an undulating 138.km race from Halden to Sarpsborg, which will include three local finishing circuit.
Stage 2 will offer the field a 141.6km from Askim to Mysen and a slightly uphill finish that will cater to punchy sprinters.
The event's first-ever mountaintop finish will happen on stage 3, a 151.3km race that starts in Drammen and finishes on a 10km ascent to the ski resort in Norefjell. The stage has a total elevation gain of 2,746 metres, but most of the elevation comes in the last 10km final that features a 10 per cent grade.
The four-day race will conclude with stage 4, a 150.4km race between Drøbak and Halden. The stage will finish with three shorter laps in the centre of Halden.
