US Pro National Championships: Artem Shmidt tops Larry Warbasse in elite men's time trial
Barta rounds out podium in West Virginia
Artem Shmidt (Netcompany Ineos) led from the first time check to the finish to end atop the standings in the elite men's individual time trial at the US Pro Road National Championships in Charleston, West Virginia on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old held off two Tudor riders, Larry Warbasse - who finished 10 seconds off the pace - and Will Barta, who was 15 seconds adrift.
Averaging 52.23kph on the 33.4 kilometre course, Shmidt knocked 42 seconds off his winning time from 2025 to win his second straight title.
