The stage 1 opening team time trial profile delivers a flat route through the broad, flat boulevards of Valencia. At 16km, slightly further than last year's 14.5km opening TTT, the stage is longer than last year but still short enough that it is likely to be a matter of establishing the opening hierarchy rather than being a major GC day.
