Iljo Keisse and Glenn O'Shea won the Gent Six after their big rivals Kevin De Ketele and Gijs Van Hoecke crashed while making a hand sling with just three laps to go in the final and decisive Madison.
Keisse avoided the high-speed crash on the back straight and was able to sprint to the line to win his home event in front of a stunned but happy crowd.
Keisse and O'Shea topped the results with a total of 484 points. De Ketele and Van Hoecke finished battered and bruised with 472 points, on the same lap.
Article continues belowRoberto Barko and Silvan Dillier finished third with 245 points, while Steve Schets and Jonathan Breyne were fourth with 245 points, four laps down.
