Tour de Romandie 2020
Details of the stage race's 74th edition
The 2020 Tour de Romandie, the 74th edition of the stage race, will run from Tuesday April 28 to Sunday May 3, 2020. A pre-Giro d'Italia tuneup for some, the race has been won in each of the past two years by Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma).
A six-day race, the Tour de Romandie is somewhat unusual among short stage races in that it usually features two time trials, with a prologue and longer time trial on the menu more often than not.
As a result, strong time trialists often prosper, though the customary tough mountain stage can balance things out in favour of the climbers present.
Last year's edition, one light on tough mountain stages, saw Roglič win three stages – including the final time trial – en route to retaining his title by a whopping 49 seconds from Rui Costa (UAE Team Emirates).
