Lucinda Brand (Trek-Segafredo) claimed her second stage win of the Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour to extend her lead in the general classification with a powerful solo attack with 3 kilometres to go.

The Dutch rider marked several moves on the final climb and then forged ahead solo, with teammate Lizzie Deignan providing a launching pad. Brand put six seconds into the chasing pack by the finish in Weimar, with Lorena Wiebes (DSM) leading the chase to the line ahead of Emma Norsgaard (Movistar).

"There was one last small bump in the last 5k, and I saw an opportunity to attack and come over Lizzie," said Brand. "They let me go, they couldn't follow, and I went full, full, full gas down to the finish.

"It was a hard downhill, I think, but I made it. I am super happy, and after all my teammates' hard work, it's great that I could finish it off and make a better position in GC."

Brand now leads the overall by 17 seconds over Lotte Kopecky (Lotto Soudal) with Norsgaard third at 18 seconds.
