Official starters of the 2026 edition of the Giro d'Italia
The Giro d'Italia begins in Bulgaria on Friday, May 8, 2026 with Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) the main contender in his first appearance in the race.
While UAE Team Emirates-XRG will be missing João Almeida, and EF Education-EasyPost without last year's podium finisher Richard Carapaz, there are a host of other Giro d'Italia contenders.
The 2026 Giro d'Italia route features almost 3,500 kilometres of racing and 49,000 metres of climbing over three weeks and 21 stages.
