The 32nd Annual Tour of the Gila returns for 2018 with a restored opening-day summit finish in Mogollon after a one-year absence from the race. The five-day UCI 2.2 race begins Wednesday, May 18 with the traditional Mogollon Road Race that takes the men's and women's pelotons up to the historic namesake ghost town.
The remaining four days retrace the familiar environs, wit h the stage 2 Fort Bayard road race, the stage 3 Tyrone time trial and the, the stage 4 downtown Silver City criterium and the final day's battle with the Gila Monster.
In the men's race, Rally Cycling's Evan Huffman will return to defend his 2017 overall title, while the women's race will see a new winner this year after 2017 champion Tayler Wiles signed with a European team Drops. UnitedHealthcare's Katie Hall, runner-up last year to her former teammate Wiles, will go into the race as the favourite for overall victory.
