Double ascents of the Passo Brocon are just part of the story on stage 17. The day begins at the base of the Passo Sella and climbs straight from the gun. A long descent to the Passo Rolle, another long descent meets the Passo Gobbera and then the double trips up the final climb ensue. There is hardly a flat metre on this brutal stage.
