The Ladies Tour of Norway will be held from August 13-16 as part of the post-COVID-19 Women's World Tour calendar. Organisers of the four-day race have stated that it will host the event, however, due to health restrictions surrounding public gatherings in Norway, the race will be held without spectators. In addition, restrictions regarding social-distancing and border control might still make it challenging to organise the race, organisers said on its website.
The UCI announced the revised-late season calendar in May and the Women's WorldTour has retained 16 of the original 22 events. It will include five stage races and 11 one-day races.
Last year, Scandinavian race organisers unveiled a new ten-stage event that they believe will be the hardest race on the women’s calendar. The new race will be known as the Battle of the North and will make its debut in 2021.
The race is the combined efforts of the organisers of the Ladies Tour of Norway and the Vårgårda West Sweden, two events that were cancelled this year, along with the Danish Cycling Federation.
The new event will replace the Norwegian and Swedish races, which were back-to-back in August on the Women's WorldTour calendar, and it will be ridden over 10 stages and 11 days.
