German champion Ina Teutenberg claimed the first road stage victory in the Thüringen Rundfahrt, taking home the bunch sprint in Gera by a generous margin over Monia Baccaille (MCipollini) and Lizzy Armitstead (Garmin-Cervelo). The victory extended the HTC-Highroad rider's margin in the general classification, which she leads over teammate Judith Arndt by eight seconds. Armitstead moved into third in the rankings, now at 11 seconds.
