Cant can in women's race
Roel Paulissen claimed the Belgian national mountain bike championship on Sunday, finished six minutes ahead of Sven Nys. Björn Brems was third.
Paulissen pulled away from the start. “The hardest part was right at the beginning. So I put all my effort into the start,” the defending champion said. “To my great surprise I had a big lead immediately.”
The title was Paulissen's seventh. “That is something to be proud of.”
Sanne Cant won the elite women's race ahead of Kristien Nelen and Githa Michiels.
