Katusha claims team time trial

Team Katusha powered to victory in stage three at the Vuelta a Burgos, a 21.3km team time trial from Queso de Sasamon to Melgar de Fernamental. The Russian ProTour squad bested Liquigas-Doimo by seven seconds while Rabobank finished third, 11 seconds behind.

As a result of the team's win, Katusha's Gianpaolo Caruso took over the race lead from Samuel Sánchez (Euskaltel-Euskadi), whose team finished seventh on the stage, 28 seconds back. Caruso leads José Iván Gutiérrez (Caisse d'Epargne) by nine seconds and Oliver Zaugg (Liquigas-Doimo) by 10 seconds. Sánchez dropped to eighth on general classification, 22 seconds behind Caruso.
