Wildfires around the Pyrénées-Orientales area had threatened to postpone the stage, but instead the organisers have made adjustments, with spectators unable to watch the final 40km from the roadside. Either way, we are still set for a spectacle that should provide some entertaining racing, and one that Tadej Pogačar may have earmarked as his first win of this year's Tour.

The 195.9km stage, packed with 3,850m of climbing, features four categorised climbs, including the Category 1 Col de Toses. The breakaway should, in theory, have an excellent chance of taking the win, but as we all know by now, the appetite for stage victories and time gains in the general classification from the likes of Pogačar, Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel is insatiable. Paul Seixas will also be looking to make a strong impression as he races on home soil for the first time.
