Stage 20 saw Richard Carapaz prevail from the breakaway to claim his second stage victory in three days, holding off a late attack from Remco Evenepoel to take the win. Behind him, Tadej Pogačar and Isaac del Toro crossed the finish line hand in hand, all but securing the yellow and white jerseys respectively heading into the final stage.
Stage 21 has unfortunately been shortened from 133km to just 89km due to policing shortages caused by wildfires in France. Despite the reduced distance, the route still includes the cobbled climb of Butte Montmartre, where Wout van Aert outsprinted Pogačar to win in Paris last year.
The sprinters will be hoping the race stays together this time around, but the puncheurs will be eager to add one of cycling's most prestigious stage wins to their palmarès.
