This is a day for the sprinters to remind everyone they're still around, with a flat stage to Montpellier that finishes in the Mosson Stadium - a grand setting for a sprint finish. The smart money would be on Robbie McEwen - Davitamon-Lotto's super sprinter has proven before he can survive the mountains and kick on when the road flattens out again. Although there are only two intermediate sprints on this day, the shorter length of this stage means that the focus will be on a stage win, and be sure to watch out for Tom Boonen, who revels in this kind of lightly rolling terrain, which is similar to that of the Classics where he was so successful earlier this year.
