Jean-Christophe Péraud (Ag2r-La Mondiale) soloed to the finale stage 3 victory at the Criterium International on the Col de l'Ospedale on Sunday. He won the race by 15 seconds ahead of runner-up Pierrick Fedrigo (Bretagne-Seche-Environnement) and by an additional second ahead of third placed Thibaut Pinot (FDJ).

Péraud also sealed the overall title at the three-day event ahead of Pinot by 10 seconds. Stage 2 time trial winner Fabio Felline (Trek Factory Racing) finished in third overall, 18 seconds back.  The win was Péraud's first since he winning the overall of the Corsican stage race last year.

Last year's runner up at the Tour de France attacked a select group on the final climb up the Col de l’Ospedale, seven kilometres from the finish line which no rider was able to respond to. With yellow jersey wearer Be King (Cannondale-Garmin) already distanced, Péraud was not only riding to stage success but a repeat overall victory.

Ag2r-La Mondiale finished with three riders in the top six as Jan Bakelants, a Tour de France stage winner on Corsica in 2013, was fourth with Alexis Vuillermoz in six.

"We were able to follow the tactical plan," Péraud said. "At first I mainly planned to help Alexis [Vuillermoz]. But everything worked well. I counterattacked Thibaut Pinot and I found myself in a solo effort. This win feels good. It is important for the morale after a difficult week and a Paris-Nice below my ambitions that ended with my withdrawal.
