Froome and Team Sky headline Colombia 2.1
Four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome (Team Sky) will make his first appearance in a Colombian race at the 2019 Tour Colombia 2.1, the re-branded UCI race following last season's Colombia Oro y Paz.
Froome will be joined on the start line by teammate and Oro y Paz champion Egan Bernal, along with Oro y Paz runner-up Nairo Quintana (Movistar) and third-placed Rigoberto Uran (EF Education First).
Fernando Gaviria, winner of three stages last year at Oro y Paz, will return to his home race this year with his new team, UAE Team Emirates. Deceuninck-QuickStep will feature Oro y Paz stage winner Julian Alaphilippe, along with Bob Jungels and Colombian sprinter Alvaro Hodeg. Astana, the sixth WorldTour team in the race, will be led by Miguel Angel Lopez.
Pro Continental teams in the 2019 race include Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec, Bardiani CSF, Hagens Berman Axeon, Israel Cycling Academy, Neri Sottoli-Selle Italia, Nippo Vini Fantini and Postobón Manzana.
Continental teams in the race are Aevolo, BetPlay Cycling Team, Coldeportes Zenú, Deprisa Bolivia, Efapel, EPM, GW Shimano, IAM Excelsior, Paisa Pride, Strongman Bicycles, Team Illuminate and Team Medellín.
There are three national teams in the race, reprsenting Colombia, Argentina and Italy.

The 2019 Tour Colombia 2.1 will take place in the Antioquia region, starting in Medellin on February 12 with a 14km team time trial. The race concludes on February 17 with the Queen stage to Alto de Palmas.
