The UCI will introduce new rules this year that deal with time losses resulting from crashes in the finales of tour stages. The distance to the line that time cannot be lost due to a crash has been extended from one to three kilometres, which should make bunch sprints less chaotic as the GC riders do not have to be at the front in the final kilometre.
