Brajkovic national champ
Astana's Slovenian wins
Janez Brajkovic won the Slovenian time trial Thursday in Slokan. The team Astana rider rode the 38-kilometre course 1:23 faster than Gregor Gazvoda and 2:10 over Kristjan Koren.
"It was a pretty flat course but with sections hard enough to disturb the rhythm. It was hard, but I felt strong with my Giro d'Italia condition," he said.
Brajkovic, 25, raced the Giro d'Italia to help Lance Armstrong and Levi Leipheimer. (GB)
