World champion Tom Boonen (Quick Step-Innergetic) fell on a descent on yesterday's stage of the Tour of Britain, but will take the start today.
Boonen fell around 40 kilometres from the finish. "I crashed because of a stain of oil," explained Boonen after the finish in Sheffield. "Cyclists and the oil are not a good combination, but I'm well however."
