The first 30 kilometres of stage 11 are flat until the first incline of the first category Puerto de Braguía, which will warm up the legs before undertaking the second difficulty of the day, the Puerto del Escudo, with steep sections of 12 percent. With 70 kilometres to ride after the climbs, the sprinters will still be in with a shout if their teams can keep it together. The final 1.5 kilometres is gun-barrel straight and flat - tailor made for Petacchi.
