Gianmario Pedrazzini (Firenze Petroli Gragnano) won the Italian Championships for riders without contract today Imola. He sprinted ahead of his escape companions after 176.8 kilometres. Damiano Margutti (GS Podenzano) and Henry Frusto (Team Scap Prefabbricati Fioresi) finished second and third.
"I hope that this win gives me the possibility to turn professional again," said Pedrazzini.
Pedrazzini raced professional for Team Piemonte through the end of May.
