Criterium du Dauphine 2019
It was Dylan van Baarle's turn to take the a stage win for Team Ineos Sunday at the Criterium du Dauphine, where he followed teammate Wout Poels' stage victory the previous day with his own win in Chambrey.
Van Baarle joined Jack Haig (Mitchelton-Scott) as the final survivors of a 13-rider breakaway that started to disintegrate on the penultimate climb. The duo approached the finish together, where Van Baarle got the advantage. Lotto Soudal's Carl Fredrik Hagen rounded out the stage podium 50 seconds later.
Jakob Fuglsang relied on his Astana team to shepherd him to the finish with his overall lead intact, giving the Danish rider his second overall win after he took victory there in 2017. Adam Yates (Mithcelton-Scott) abandoned the stage with a reported fever, moving Tejay van Garderen (EF Education First) into the runner-up spot at 20 seconds. Emanuel Buchmann (Bora-Hansgrohe) was third at 21 seconds.
