Former Australian champion Darren Lapthorne will contest the Tour of Tasmania and Herald Sun Tour as the Rapha Condor riders head Down Under for a block of racing. Lapthorne, who claimed a FBD Insurance RÁS stage victory earlier this year, will be joined by current British road champion Kristian House on the team’s roster for the two races.

“The Tassie Tour is one of my favourite events worldwide,” said House. “It would top off my season very nicely if I could come away with another victory.

“I still have a few nightmares about Gunns Plains, but I’m in better shape now than when I tackled it last year, “ House said. “It’s not only Gunns Plains, though, that everybody’s got to get over. This year’s course looks very tough indeed, but very beautiful also.”

The duo will ride for composite team GHD-Burnie for the Tour of Tasmania, along with team-mate and English hill-climbing specialist Ben Greenwood, from September 29 – October 4. They will be joined by New South Wales’ Aaron Donnelly and Burnie riders Aaron Jones and Adam Hartley.

The trio will then reunite with their Rapha Condor team-mates for the Jayco Herald Sun Tour in Victoria. There they will be joined by Tom Southam, African road race champion Dan Craven, two-time British circuit race champion Dean Downing and Matthew Cronshaw.
