The Scott Addict RC is the lightweight climbing machine of the NSN Cycling Team, and our choice as the best lightweight road bike.

For stage 6 of the Tour de France, climbing specialist George Bennett and team leader Biniam Girmay will test the Addict’s climbing reputation on the brutal Col d'Aspin and legendary Col du Tourmalet.

If the ongoing Tour has you feeling inspired, I've found an incredible deal on the Scott Addict RC Pro.

Competitive Cyclist has the Scott Addict RC Pro discounted by $1,350 to $7,649, and a rarely seen 15% off the list price of $8,999.

We awarded the Scott Addict RC a stellar 4.5 out of 5 stars in our review. Tester Will Jones praised the bike, saying, "The Addict RC stands alongside the very best road bikes on the market, combining a phenomenally low weight with impeccable handling and a flawless build."

Scott Addict RC Pro: was $8,999.99 now $7,649.99 at Competitive Cyclist

Save $1,350 The Scott Addict RC is our choice as the best lightweight bike on the market. At a claimed 6.5 kg, it's light, and comes with impeccable handling and an impressive spec. A full Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electric groupset is matched with a carbon frame and fork. Syncros Capital 1.0S Carbon wheels and Schwalbe Pro One tyres complete the build. The Scott Addict RC Pro comes in a stunning Beluga Grey/Seashore Green colourway and sizes 52-56.

Scott says the Addict RC represents the absolute pinnacle of the brand's road racing lineup. Featuring the Addict RC HMX carbon frame, engineered to be exceptionally light and stiff.

In our review, Will tested the Addict RC in its Ultimate guise, which weighed in at just 6.4kg. The Pro version on offer here has a claimed weight of 6.5kg.

For comparison, two of our favourite lightweight options with the same Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 build are the Cannondale SuperSix Evo, weighing in at around 6.6kg, and the Factor O2 VAM Disc, which is roughly 6.4kg.

Both these bikes, of course, are some of the best road bikes you could ever wish to own. Priced at over $10,000, they don't come close to the Scott Addict RC Pro deal price at Competitive Cyclist, and we think the Scott represents incredible value for money.

Will summed up his testing by saying, "If you love riding bikes, you’ll adore the Scott Addict RC, and while I haven’t tested the lower-tier models, the geometry will be consistent, and so I am pretty confident in saying that probably applies throughout the range." and concluded, "The Addict RC is absolutely one of the best road bikes you can buy today."

Unfortunately, this specific deal applies to US shoppers only. If you are reading this in the UK, I've found the Scott Addict RC Pro in Carbon Black discounted by 24% to £6,550.00 from £8,599. Check out our guide to the best road bikes for excellent alternatives available near you.
