After taking second in the GP de Denain, Bretagne-Schuller rider Florian Vachon was finally able to enjoy the spoils of victory in the Tour du Finistère on Saturday.
The 25-year-old topped Coupe de France leader Leonardo Duque (Cofidis) and Cedric Pineau (Roubaix Lille Metropole) in the sprint to the line in Quimper.
With his second place, Duque extended his overall lead in the series, but Vachon closed in with his recent strong placings and is now just four points shy of the Colombian.
Vachon was part of a group of 12 riders escaped on the final circuit in Quimper, along with his teammates Roman Hardy and Eduardo Gonzalo Ramirez, Anthony Charteau (Bouygues Telecom), Jerome Coppel (Saur-Sojasun) Stephane Auge and Leonardo Duque (Cofidis), the Polish Sylwester Janiszekski (CCC Polsat) and Cedric Pineau (Roubaix Lille Métropole).
