Teunissen wins junior race
Two battle for second
Mike Teunissen won the junior race of the Superprestige in Diegem on Sunday ahead of Danny van Poppel and David van der Poel. Teunissen won despite a chain problem on the penultimate lap.
Teunissen assumed an early, solo lead and was chased by van der Poel and van Poppel. Halfway through the race, Sweeck bridged up to the two chasers. Tim Merlier almost did the same, but later dropped well back.
The eventual winner overcame a dropped chain - which occurred when he was shifting from large to small chainrings - to hold onto his lead. He remained calm and was back on the bike quickly.
A fall on the final lap forced David van der Poel to forfeit second place to van Poppel. Laurens Sweeck mirrored his fourth place of yesterday in Zolder, and Gert-Jan Bosman was fifth.
Teunissen remains the leader in the overall standings.

A brilliant all-road tyre that has fewer speed compromises than similar competitors. Wet weather grip and initial fitting gremlins are worth considering though.
