Arndt wins Giro del Trentino Alto Adige overall

Swedish champion Emma Johansson (Hitec Products-UCK) sprinted to victory on the Giro del Trentino's final stage while the day's runner-up, Judith Arndt (HTC-Highroad), claimed the overall win in the three-day Italian stage race.

Malgorzta Jasinska (S.C. Michela Fanini Rox) rounded out the top-three for the 72km stage from Castel Thun to Cles.

For the general classification, Arndt topped second-placed Emma Johansson by 19 seconds while Tatiana Guderzo (SC MCipollini Giordana) finished third overall in the same time as Swedish rider.

"Judith got a time bonus which strengthened her lead, and then she chased down a lot of dangerous attacks," said HTC-Highroad sports director Jens Zemke. "It wasn't clear we would win for sure, there were a lot of good rivals here."

"But she did a super performance and she got really good back-up from her team-mates, too. Ina [Teutenberg] did a great job again as well, taking second on the first climb of the day and supporting Judith there, and then leading Judith out in the final sprint.

"It's the first time the team has taken Trentino overall, so we can be pretty satisfied with how it's gone."
