September 6: Form is coming around

Yesterday's rest day was a great break for me. Honestly, by the end of the day I felt like I had been totally away from the race. Some friends from San Diego are in Spain and they stopped by to visit, which made time pass really fast. It's always great to hang out with people who stop by, since it breaks things up a lot!
Normally I have at least three hours of being bored during a rest day, but it was literally only maybe 30 minutes of not being busy yesterday! I spent the morning riding with the team and my friend, watched a movie, got a massage and then went out to dinner with friends. That pretty much filled up the whole day.
Today's race was fast and pretty aggressive, but with some strange tactics. It was a stage that was up and down for most of the day. I was feeling good, which made the racing fun. My form is definitely starting to come around, and since Freddy is feeling good too, we're hoping things will work out for us on one of the stages.
A break got away today, and another rider from Astana won - giving that team three in a row! They are definitely riding like they have something to prove, but it's working out well for them.
Tomorrow is hump day for us - the halfway point of the race, which is great. I'm really starting to feel like I went directly from finishing the Tour de France to starting the Vuelta, so I'm ready for things to wind down so I can go home. It's that time of year.... I'm feeling good, so hopefully I can pull out some good rides before we call it a year.
Until tomorrow, thanks for reading.
Chris
