Shelley Olds (Proman Hit Squad) showcased her run of dominate form with a solo victory in California's Nevada City Classic Sunday. She attacked early in the race and held off a chase by Brooke Miller (Team Tibco), who was with Olds' teammate Katerina Nash.
The Nevada City Classic is one of the toughest criteriums in the USA. The 1.3-mile course climbs over 100 feet per lap, going uphill for the first two-thirds and then downhill past the start/finish line.
There were thousands of fans in the tiny Northern California town due to Lance Armstrong's presence in the men's race. He won the race by attacking solo with around 10 laps to go in the 90-minute race. The women raced for 50 minutes.
