Sager, Sonntag win demanding stage 4

Jason Sager and Benjamin Sontag (Team Jamis) won the 82km stage four of the Trans Andes Challenge. Mixed duo Mary McConneloug and Michael Broderick (Team Kenda/Seven/NoTubes) finished second overall, and Javier Püschel and Simon Zahnd were third.

The fourth stage was rated by participants as the most challenging, but also the most beautiful. After the neutralized start from the Menetúe Thermal Complex, 130 participants rode on roads in the Andes Mountains until they reached the shore of the spectacular Hualafquen lake of the Villarrica National Park. Then came a downhill that led to the town of Curarrehue and finally back to the finish line at Menetúe Thermal Complex.

With just two stages to go, Team Jamis is the favorite for the win in the open men's category and Team Kenda/Seven are tops in the meixed category. Both teams have substantial leads in the GC over their challengers.

Stage 5 will take racers over 75km from Menetúe Thermal Complex to Quimey Co Thermal Complex.
