Wild claims second stage

Cervelo Test Team's Kirsten Wild took her second sprint victory on the third stage of the Holland Ladies Tour, besting last year's winner Ina-Yoko Teutenberg (Columbia-HTC) and Marianne Vos (DSB Bank) to extend her lead in the GC to eight seconds on Vos and 19 seconds on stage two winner Ellen van Dijk.

"Our trio (Wild, Decroix and Düster) were ahead of the first part of the peloton until the finish," said Jens Zemke, Sports Director. "Many riders finished late today because of the heavy weather conditions with lots of rain and wind.

"Early on in the race the peloton had already split into different groups. We came into the finale with a group of 20 riders including our three. Lieselot Decroix did a great job in the final kilometres to bring all the groups back and in the last kilometer Sarah Düster helped Kirsten into a perfect position and she was able to win."

 "It was really hard today," Wild commented after the stage, "but not just for me, for everyone. My position was there at the right moment and maybe I'm able to deal with the bad weather better than some of the other riders. I also had two teammates in the lead group along me and they made sure that I saved myself for the sprint."
