Driedaagse De Panne-Koksijde 2017
The 2017 Three Days of De Panne will take place from March 28-30, featuring four stages in the heart of Flanders.
The first day will throw typical Flandrian day at the peloton with a route that features 11 classified climbs, many of which will make another appearance in Sunday's Tour of Flanders. The short, steep ascents will give the Classics men a chance to shine, while stages 2 and 3 will most likely present opportunities for the sprinters. Stage 3b on the final, double day is a 14.2km individual time trial that will give the specialists against the clock a chance to gain back some time and compete for the overall.
The 2017 start list reflects the sprinter-friendly parcours, with Marcel Kittel (Quick-Step Floors) and Alexander Kristoff (Katusha-Alpecin) leading the charge for he fast men. For the overall, Quick-Step has Philippe Gilbert, while Lotto Soudal are hoping Tony Gallopin can win the day.
Other riders to watch over the three days include Bora-Hansgrohe's Sam Bennett, Orica-Scott's Luke Durbridge and British Champion Adam Blythe (Aqua Blue Sport), who has several runner-up finishes this year but has yet to crack the podium's top step.
