Theo de Rooij, general director of the Rabobank Cycling Teams, has renewed the contract of Joost Posthuma, who will now be a member of the ProTeam until the end of the 2008 season. His current contract was due to end at the end of the 2007 season.
After joining the Rabobank Cycling Teams in 2001, Posthuma made the switch from the youth team to the professional team during the 2004 season. In his first full season, Posthuma won a stage in Paris-Nice, as well as the GP Jef Scherens in Leuven, Belgium.
This year, Posthuma made an impression in the individual time trials of the 2006 Tour de France, where he was the first to wear the white jersey for best young rider - a first for Rabobank.
