Nicole Cooke: Triple World Champion

18 year old Nicole Cooke from Cowbridge in South Glamorgan has taken her third world championship in a year, adding the Junior Women's Time Trial title to the Road Race and mountain bike titles she won in France last October and the USA last month respectively. Nicole was in fourth place, 13 seconds off the pace, at the 4.5 km time-check, but rocketed to the line to finish almost 9 seconds clear of Russia's Natalia Boiarskaia. Lithuanian Diana Elmentaite finished in third place, 9.8 seconds behind Cooke.

Cooke will defend her Road Race title later in the week.
