Biography:
Isaac del Toro is a Mexican professional cyclist who turned professional in 2024 with UAE Team Emirates. Del Toro overcame a fractured femur suffered in the off-season in 2022 and had a hugely successful year in 2023, winning the Tour de l'Avenir and the stage on the Col de la Loze. The result earned him a WorldTour contract at age 20, and he began his neo-pro year with a podium in the Down Under Classic from a late breakaway, won a stage in the Tour Down Under and led the race for three stages before finishing third overall.
The young climber had a breakout spring in 2025, winning Milano-Torino and then wearing the pink jersey for most of the Giro d'Italia until reliquishing the lead on stage 20 to eventual winner Simon Yates (Visma-Lease a Bike). Across the three weeks, Del Toro notched six podiums, including a victory on stage 17 to Bormio.
