UCI Road World Championships
The UCI Road World Championships heads to Limburg in the Netherlands with a new, expanded schedule of events for 2012. Added to the typical schedule of time trials and road races for U23 men, elite women and elite men are both events for junior men and women as well as a team time trial for men's and women's professional teams.
Racing begins on September 16, 2012 with the team time trials, a spectacular event which will include all of the top pro teams from around the world. Time trials for junior and U23 men are next on the 17th, with junior and elite women the next day. Elite men will fight for the rainbow jersey on the 19th.
As an additional challenge, all of the courses include the ascent of the Cauberg, the same climb used at the finish of the Amstel Gold Race.
