The previous race leaders, Danny Stam and Leon Van Bon, as well as second placed pair Robert Bartko and Pim Ligthart dropped down a lap during that event. Points leaders Iljo Keisse and Kenny De Ketele, who started the night a lap behind, failed to gain back their lap and fell shy of the 200 point mark on the day, losing ground to Bos and Schep who scored their bonus lap with a win in the team time trial.
