The record for the 4000 km distance between the Australian cities of Perth and Sydney has been broken by 23 year-old Tristan Barnes, from Perth. Barnes took nine days, nine hours and 17 minutes to complete the marathon, bettering the previous record set in 1999 by 14 hours.
