Cyril Dessel (Ag2r) was operated on on Wednesday morning for appendicitis in the Centre Hospitalier in Saint Chammond, France. He is expected to be out of hospital by Friday, but he will have to miss the French championships this Sunday, according to his team. In addition, team director Vincent Lavenu said that Dessel's participation in the Tour de France is "in doubt".
