Astana's team has been busy training and preparing for the 2009 season in its first pre-season training camp on the island of Tenerife. The team boasts strong men such as Lance Armstrong, Alberto Contador, Levi Leipheimer and Andreas Klöden – all proven Grand Tour riders.
With so much depth, Astana will be a favorite at the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France and other races next year, especially with American Lance Armstrong making his come back to professional cycling.
