Stage 11 is a transition stage that takes the field away from the Ligurian coast, across the rolling hills of the wine region of Langhe to finish in the ancient crossroads city of Pinerolo. With the first mountains starting the next day, it will be a classic struggle between a breakaway and the sprinters' trains. Perhaps time for US Champion Big George Hincapie to fly his stars & stripes jersey in Pinerolo?
