Gerben Thijssen and Madis Mihkels (Intermarché-Circus-Wanty) have apologised for making a racist gesture against Asian people at the Tour of Guangxi and posted it on Instagram.

The duo were withdrawn from the race by their team ahead of the start and the UCI subsequently announced that the incident had been referred to its Disciplinary Commission.
