Frenchman Pierrick Fédrigo will stay with Bbox Bouygues Telecom though the team failed to receive a ProTour licence renewal for 2010.

"The best thing for everyone is to finish my last year [of contract] and then a change of scenery for 2011," Fédrigo told L'Equipe today. "A fight would not have been good for anyone, especially for me. I would lose a lot of time and energy."

He joined the French team in 2005 and still has a contract for 2010.

Bbox Bouygues has had a ProTour, or first division, licence since the inception of the ranking system in 2005. Its licence runs through the end of this year, but it received official notice November 29 from the International Cycling Union (UCI) that it failed to meet renewal requirements.

It will have to race 2010 at the Professional Continental level, or second division.

Fédrigo is one of Bbox Bouygues Telecom's best-known riders with Thomas Voeckler. He became a full-time professional in 2000 and has won two stages in the Tour de France, 2006 and 2009.
