Cancellara and teammates spend time with fans

To kick-start their new team the Trek Factory Racing squad gathered in Oudenaarde, Belgium on Friday ahead of their official presentation. The occasion was just as much about the fans as it was about the riders with Fabian Cancellara, Jens Voigt and Stijn Devolder going for a ride with the fans. It wasn't just a chance for fans to add to their autograph collection though, as the WorldTour team led a 78 kilometre ride through some of the toughest sections of the Tour of Flanders parcours.

Roughly 250 fans made the trip and took part in the ride, which took place hours before the team were officially presented at the Roubaix Velodrome across the border in Northern France.

Wow! Soooo black. Drab, low-visability clothes to get run over in. And so ill fitting. How to make the world's best cyclists look like cyclotourists with flab to hide. What a downer.

I agree with you. Right now I'd say it's the worst pro team kit I've ever seen.

You do realise that it's not the actual kits of Trek Factory Racing on the pictures, right? ;) Still I agree that their kit is too black, not for safety reasons obviously, but for distinguishing them in the peleton. What's up with Jens' bike? It has some sort of german paint job, which I dont assume he's going to ride in the coming season?

I agree. Whats with all the black? When I'm out on the road its all hi-vis bright colors. Even when you have that on people in cars still can't see you. However I wonder how much traffic will be out on these cobble stone back country farm roads. Maybe a farm tractor or two? Probably not too dangerous out there other then some Sunday tourist rider falling off his bike because he can't negotiate the cobbles...

The so called men in black that Mc quaid used to go on about eh? Reminds me of my long weekend with the Cervelo squad a few years back (i say cervelo squad it was actually the womens team but it was still brillant.).
