The 20th edition of the Commonwealth Games will feature three disciplines of cycling: Road, Track and Mountain bike around the Scottish city of Glasgow. The track events will take place in the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow's East End, while the mountain bike competitions will be held in the purpose built Cathkin Braes Mountain Bike Trails.
The road race and time trial events will start and finish at Glasgow Green having taken in the city roads.
Sir Bradley Wiggins (Team Sky) is racing on the track for the first time since 2008 and will also line up for the road events. Joining Wiggins on the English track team are several Olympic champions including Jason Kenny and Laura Trott, Dani King, Joanna Rowsell, Ed Clancy, Steven Burke and Philip Hindes.
Anna Meares spearheads a strong Australian track team with one eye on Rio 2016 but focused on getting the better of its fierce Commonwealth rivals. At the previous Games in Delhi, Australia won 14 gold medals from 18 events and will be looking to match the achievement.
The time trial events take place just four days after the conclusion of the Tour de France on July 27 while the road race is to be held on August 3 which will see several big names skip the events. Although is still sending a strong squad including rising star Caleb Ewan, lead-out specialist Mark Renshaw and all-rounder Simon Clarke.
England's Lizzie Armistead will be hoping to go one better than the silver medal she won in the women's road race at London 2012 and will start as a favourite having won British National Road Race title last year on the same course.
Reigning Commonwealth Games time trial champion, David Millar will be looking to defend his title on home roads in his final season.
