Francisco Mancebo will be the leader of the Illes Balears-Caisse d'Epargne team in the Vuelta a España, which starts this Saturday in Granada. The fourth placed finisher in the Tour de France will have to do without the services of Alejandro Valverde, who will not race the Vuelta because of his knee injury.
